Join Us for One Big Adventure
Prysor Angling, Llyn Trawsfynydd is just one of the four sites of the Snowdonia Centre of Excellence project, known as Snowdonia One Big Adventure. This £4 European funded project is now in its fourth year and many exciting developments are happening at each of the four sustainable tourism sites. These outdoor activity centres demonstrate the best that the area has to offer and show that Snowdonia is the hub of outdoor activity in Wales.
Watch the Centre of Excellence's latest video for a taste of what each of the sites has to offer:
Coed y Brenin
For years people have travelled to the area just to ride the world famous trails at Coed y Brenin. The newly built blue graded Minor Taur trail has ensured that entry level riders and adaptive bike users can also enjoy the centre and the trail has become the most popular route on the Welsh Government's Woodland Estate. An impressive new skills area is now open; it’s a spectacle just to watch it in use. This area allows riders to self grade themselves ensuring that they don’t try the wrong trails. Coed y Brenin now also boasts a new gift shop and an extension to the Visitor Centre, a large multi functional space that can hold anything from conferences to weddings.
For more information on all that Coed y Brenin has to offer visit www.forestry.gov.uk/coedybrenin or contact them on 01341 440747.
Antur Stiniog
Blaenau Ffestiniog’s first Downhill Mountain Bike routes have been developed and are quickly becoming one of the biggest attractions in the area with over 8000 brave bikers having enjoyed the trails and the jump site since June 2012. And now with a new Visitor Centre fully equipped with showers, eating facilities and a roof terrace, Antur Stiniog is an easy place to spend the entire day.
Antur Stiniog have been selected to host the British Downhill Championships in 2014 which will launch the centre officially. A cross country trail around Tanygrisiau Lake is also set to be complete by the end of 2013 and Antur Stiniog are hoping to build a trail that leads directly from the centre to the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Glan Llyn
Glan-llyn is famous amongst people throughout Wales as being an adventure centre they visited as children. However, Glan-llyn is now opening its market to accommodate families and groups of adults who can all enjoy the wealth of activities on offer from kayaking to rock climbing. The building of a new accommodation block, that can sleep an extra 28 people, and the creation of new kitchen, dining and conference facilities have ensured that Glan-llyn is busier than ever.
Glan-llyn has secured planning permission to create a new walking and cycling path on the shore of Llyn Tegid making this an outdoor activity centre that really does have it all.

Prysor Angling
There are big plans in place for Trawsfynydd Lake. Not only will the old club house become a visitor centre, café and hub of activity on the lake but a new pontoon and boat house have already been installed improving the access and facilities to one of North Wales’ most beautiful lakes.
Together these four centres create the Snowdonia Centre of Excellence. This project has helped pay for and develop these outdoor centres into the fantastic places that you can visit and enjoy today.
